Chin Mee Chin is known for its confectionery delights the residents of the east with its traditional breakfast. While it opened in 1925, Chin Mee Chin had its humble beginning as a bread delivery business in the 1920s. Known for their aromatic coffee, Kaya butter bread and soft-boiled eggs; they never fail to provide one of the best breakfasts for the locals. Most of the staff here are elderlies helping out since their younger days.
This piece of work is part of the "Katong" Series, which aims to encapsulate and pen down the prominent and historical sites in the Katong area of Singapore. Prior to 2019, the quaint little shop was still bustling with business. However, earlier this year, the confectionery suddenly closed its shutters, and hasn't opened since then
